It’s no secret that many women feel more confident with clearer skin. In fact, during consultations, clients always tell me they want to feel comfortable leaving the house with minimal-to-no makeup. This is especially true in the summer, when Cincinnati is hot and muggy. To help all the ladies out there, I’ve gathered my top secrets for perfect summer skin care.

During the colder months, your skin tends to dry out more, and thus needs heavier creams. The opposite is true during the summer; opt for lighter products like serums. If you get really oil during the day, moisturize at night and only apply sunscreen in the morning. For a more in-depth skin care breakdown, check out my previous blog about how to build a skin care routine.
The first thing I absolutely recommend is a Clarisonic brush. It’s great for oily, congested, acne-prone, and normal skin. For more sensitive skin types, I recommend a gentler tool like a washcloth or cotton pads.
To keep your skin care tools clean, buy a new brush head every month and clean your makeup brushes once a week. Both of these easy steps will decrease the collection and transfer of bacteria.
The sun rays penetrate blue skies and cloudy days, so it’s critical to protect your skin from the damage. The easiest way to do this is to use products that have SPF built in. My personal favorite is Intellishade by Revision Skincare. It’s a tinted moisturizer with SPF, is lightweight, and it even covers uneven skin tone.
Planning a beach or pool trip? Grab your hat! Not only are cute beach hats in, but they also help protect your face (and the top of your head) during prolonged sun exposure.
Most of my clients want to correct the sun damage on their face, neck, and hands. The best way to treat is to prevent. Keep a travel size sunscreen in your car that you can apply to your face, forearms, and hands while driving. It will help prevent premature aging!
If you have sun damage, I can help you correct it with a series of treatments. To schedule a free consultation or to book an appointment, call us at 513-791-9474.
