Targeted Facials for Every Skin Type: From Acne to Anti-Aging

Targeted Facials for Every Skin Type: From Acne to Anti-Aging

Posted: March 11, 2025

Here at Atalo, we think targeted facials should be an essential part of every skincare regimen. Facials are not one-size-fits-all. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another, especially when we’re talking about something like acne. Our estheticians cater to various skin types and concerns on a weekly basis. Here are some of the best facials we think you should consider when trying to target acne or just general anti-aging.

Face Reality Acne Bootcamp (Skincare, Peels, & More)

Face Reality represents a holistic approach to treating acne, focusing on surface symptoms and the underlying factors contributing to skin issues. By combining education, personalized skincare, and professional treatments, the program aims to empower you to take control of your skin health and improve overall well-being.

One of the key aspects of the Face Reality Bootcamp is the development of personalized skincare routines. Participants typically undergo skin assessments to identify their specific skin types and conditions. Based on these assessments, skincare professionals recommend tailored regimens that may include:

  • Cleansers
  • Exfoliants
  • Treatments (such as topical retinoids or benzoyl peroxide)
  • Moisturizers
  • Sunscreens

Our providers are with you every step of the way, adjusting your personalized regimen as-needed to. While utilizing your new routine, you’ll also have access to Face Reality acne peel treatments which help as you progress through the program. When talking targeted facials, Face Reality is about as targeted as you can get. Our patients see amazing results in just 12 weeks!

Express & Wet Diamond Hydrafacials

The HydraFacial is a multi-step facial treatment that utilizes a specialized device to cleanse, exfoliate, extract impurities, and hydrate the skin. The procedure is known for delivering immediate results with minimal downtime, making it the most requested facial we offer here at Atalo. Head to our HydraFacial treatment page to learn more about the differences between our Express and Wet Diamond HydraFacials (including pricing). In the meantime, here’s a quick breakdown of how the HydraFacial works to treat acne:

  1. Cleansing and Exfoliation: the treatment begins with thoroughly cleansing the skin to remove makeup, dirt, and oil. An exfoliation process follows, where dead skin cells are gently removed. This often involves the use of a unique vortex exfoliation tip.
  2. Acid Peel: a gentle chemical peel solution is applied to further exfoliate the skin and loosen debris from pores. Unlike traditional peels, the HydraFacial uses mild acids (such as glycolic and salicylic acids) that do not cause significant peeling or irritation.
  3. Extraction: the extraction phase employs a vacuum technology to remove blackheads, whiteheads, and other impurities from the skin. This step helps to clear congested pores and help reduce the risk of future breakouts.
  4. Hydration: After extraction, a customized hydrating serum is infused into the skin. This serum is typically tailored to address specific skin concerns (e.g., dryness, acne, aging) and contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, and antioxidants.

What are the anti-aging serums in a HydraFacial Treatment?

Antioxidants fight off free radicals in the air that cause damage to the skin, and work to decrease inflammation of the skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and repair sun damage from the summer.

Hyaluronic Acid is a substance the skin produces on its’ own, but production decreases as we age. The decrease in Hyaluronic Acid leads to dryness and signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and a loss of volume in the skin. It creates more youthful, plump skin by providing short- and long-term hydration.

Peptides help to lift the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The Best Facials for Sensitive Skin

We also offer targeted facials for those with sensitive or reactive skin. Our sensitive skin facial uses gentle products that minimize irritation while providing hydration. Another great option is a derma plane facial. Here’s a little on each below!

Sensitive Skin Facial

Our sensitive skin facial is a soothing facial designed for those with sensitive skin. It begins with steam, a double cleanse, and extractions. An Enzyme Peel will be applied to the skin to calmly exfoliate while providing anti-inflammatory benefits. This is followed by a sheet Mask that provides suppleness, nourishes the skin, and promotes cell regeneration.

If your skin is too sensitive for a HydraFacial, or you’re looking for a light exfoliation (with steam and hydration), this is the best option for you. It’s also pregnancy and breastfeeding friendly!

Dermaplane Facial

Dermaplane is good for all skin types. It provides an exfoliating treatment that takes up to 2 weeks of dead skin and vellus hair (peach fuzz) off. Leaving the skin feeling bright, hydrated, and glowing.

It has been proven that your hair growing back thicker or darker after a Dermaplane treatment is a myth. Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliating treatment that is only temporary – meaning your hair will grow back the same way it was before with no changes in color or thickness.

You should really use an SPF every day to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun that can contribute to things like skin aging and sun spots. After a facial treatment, your skin has been exfoliated and can be even more sensitive to harmful rays from the sun – so it is important to wear sunscreen in the days following your facial.
