Over the past few years, there has been a trend towards more natural, regenerative treatments in the field of medical aesthetics. Patients are looking for treatments that can more naturally enhance and correct their skin concerns. At Atalo Aesthetics, we have offered a variety of regenerative treatments for many years. In order to offer our patients the most cutting-edge treatments, we are happy to now offer PRF ezGel as another regenerative option. This is a completely autologous treatment that uses the body’s own growth factors to rejuvenate the skin. Let’s talk about what PRF ezGel is, how it works and who it is best for.

PRF stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin. This is obtained through an in-office blood draw. The sample is then spun at a slower rate than when preparing PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma). This allows for the presence of fibrin, growth factors, platelets and white blood cells. In contrast, PRP typically only contains platelets and growth factors. By having a fibrin matrix, the growth factors can be released more slowly over a number of days. This differs from PRP which typically releases growth factors more quickly. When prepared, PRF ezGel creates a smooth, injectable gel consistency. This new gel help restore volume and improve tissue/skin quality. This is 100% natural, meaning there are no additives or synthetic ingredients. Which makes sense, as it’s made entirely from your own blood!
PRF ezGel is made through a process that involves spinning down two samples of blood at different centrifugation speeds. This separates the plasma and the fibrin. The larger plasma sample is then gently heated and then cooled to form a “gel” consistency.
The sample of PRF is then added and mixed in with the gel. By mixing the PRF with the gel matrix, there is an even slower release of growth factors providing longer-lasting results. Not only can we improve skin texture/quality, but also help restore volume to multiple areas of the face.

Once the PRF ezGel has been prepared, we are able to inject the gel into targeted areas. The most common treatment areas are the under eyes, cheeks, nasolabial folds, temples, and even lips. PRF ezGel provides instant improvement in volume loss. It also stimulates collagen, elastin, and tissue regeneration over time. This process does not happen overnight, and it is important to know that these results are gradual. Patients will start to notice smoother, firmer, and more hydrated skin as the body renews itself naturally. Oftentimes, we will recommend a series of 2-3 treatments spaced six weeks apart for best results.
For patients looking for a natural regenerative option to correct age-related concerns, PRF ezGel has so many benefits.
Some of these benefits include:
So how does PRF ezGel compare to traditional PRP or even filler? This is a common question. The short answer: PRF ezGel is a next generation, regenerative option. It allows for longer-lasting results due to a more stable, slower release of growth factors when compared to PRP. Plus, compared to filler, PRF ezGel is a more natural and regenerative rather than purely volumizing option. It is ideal for patients who want a more subtle and holistic approach to volume loss and age-related changes in the skin. In addition, PRF ezGel helps bridge the gap between regenerative, biostimulatory treatment options and traditional injectable treatments. The best part, depending on a patient’s needs, both can be utilized to achieve the patient’s goals.
When you come into Atalo for your PRF ezGel appointment, you can expect a quick blood draw. It takes approximately 20 minutes to prepare the final product. This involves spinning the blood sample at various speeds, heating and cooling the serums and ultimately combining the PRF with the gel to form the injectable PRF ezGel. Once it is time to inject the ezGel, the provider will thoroughly cleanse the skin and use a local anesthetic to numb the skin over the area where the ezGel will be injected.
It is normal to have mild swelling to the area for 1-2 days after treatment. Results will then gradually develop over weeks and continue to improve over several months. Typically, we recommend 2-3 sessions spaced six weeks apart during the initial treatment phase. After the initial treatment phase, patients may opt for 1 to 2 treatments per year to maintain their results.
PRF ezGel is a suitable option for most patients seeking a natural approach to rejuvenation. This is ideal for patients looking to help treat under-eye hollows, fine lines, mild volume loss in other areas of the face or even dull/crepey skin. For individuals who are seeking instant filler-like volume, this may not be the best option. There are certain medical conditions that also can be contraindications for PRF ezGel. These include conditions that lower platelet counts– as this would decrease the quality and effectiveness of the platelets needed for treatment– as well as, pregnancy, breastfeeding, cancer or use of certain medications. If you are unsure if you would be a good candidate, it is best to schedule a consultation with one of the nurse practitioners in the office.
