What MedSpa Treatments Can I Get If I Have Sensitive Skin? A Guide To Gentle Options That Deliver Results

Posted: May 4, 2026

Do you have sensitive skin?  Is your skin red, or does it flush extremely easily?  Have you ever had a reaction to a product and just gone back to the basics, like Cetaphil or CeraVe, to avoid future reactions to products?  People with sensitive skin may assume they need to avoid products with active ingredients like AHAs and BHAs, retinoids, and exfoliating products, as well as skin treatments such as facials and lasers.  Fortunately for sensitive skin individuals, Atalo Aesthetics has many safe options that will calm down sensitivities while improving skin tone, texture, and complexion!

Understanding Sensitive Skin

Historically, individuals with sensitive skin may experience redness, dryness, irritation, or even reactivity to actions like cleansing the skin. Some individuals may experience all of these symptoms while others may only experience one or two.  Sensitive skin can make it more difficult when curating a skincare plan, but certainly not impossible. Sensitive skin individuals just need providers who are confident in managing their skin type, with treatment modalities and products that also fit within their budget.

Creating A Skincare Plan For Sensitive Skin

At Atalo Aesthetics, both our estheticians and Nurse Practitioners offer in-office treatments that will calm down sensitive skin types.

Estheticians’ most popular treatments

1. HydraFacials

Many assume HydraFacials are an aggressive, exfoliating treatment.  However, HydraFacials are THE most customizable facial.  It is highly effective for all skin types- acne-prone, oily, normal combo, etc.  HydraFacials use various serums as well as “boosters,” which allows estheticians a lot of flexibility to customize the facial to each patient’s skin.  In addition, HydraFacials have different tips that are connected to the handpiece, allowing even more flexibility.  Lastly, the suction level on a HydraFacial can easily be changed from patient to patient. Patients with oily skin with active acne will require normal suction with boosters that include active ingredients to calm down sebum production.  Whereas patients with thin, sensitive skin will need a lower suction with boosters that include calming ingredients.

2. Sensitive Skin Facial

If someone is unsure about doing a hydrafacial and wants a standard facial, the Sensitive Skin Facial is the go-to option.  The sensitive skin facial is a soothing facial designed for those with sensitive skin. It begins with steam, a double cleanse, and extractions. We apply a powdered enzyme to gently exfoliate the skin, which is followed by a hot towel. This is followed by a sheet mask and red light therapy which provides suppleness, nourishes the skin, and promotes cell regeneration.

3. Dermaplane Facial

A Dermaplane is an effective treatment for removing peach fuzz and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin for a silky-smooth finish. The treatment starts with a double cleanse, extractions if necessary, a sheet mask, and then ends with red light therapy. Red light therapy is a highly rejuvenating treatment for all skin types, but is particularly effective at calming down inflammation in sensitive skin types.

Nurse Practitioners Most Popular Treatments

1. BroadBand Light (BBL)

BBL is an innovative technology that uses pulsed light energy to target many skin conditions such as rosacea, facial veins, hyperpigmentation, active breakouts, and acne scars.  BBL is truly the gold standard at treating rosacea and redness on the skin- both skin conditions that make skin more sensitive. BBL Hero is a safe and non-invasive treatment with virtually no downtime.

2. Microneedling (AKA: Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT)

Microneedling is used to improve the overall texture and complexion of the skin by stimulating collagen synthesis.  More collagen results in healthier, smoother, and firmer-looking skin. At Atalo Aesthetics, our providers microneedle with the SkinPen, the first FDA-approved microneedling device in the US! Specific serums are chosen based on your skin’s needs to infuse into the skin throughout the treatment. If you’re looking for additional results and quicker healing, consider adding Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to a treatment.  PRP is a wonderful add-on that is 100% natural, as PRP is from your own blood.

Medical-Grade Skincare

In addition to treatments, Atalo Aesthetics carries very clean, medical-grade products.   Sensitive skin types must avoid certain ingredients in skincare products, two of the most common being fragrance and dye.  Sometimes, skincare lines get very sneaky with their ingredient list and will use the chemical name for a product to make it confusing for the consumer.  Rest assured, Atalo Aesthetics hand-selects every single product we carry to ensure we offer the highest quality products. Our most popular skincare line, SkinBetter Science, is highly effective at treating sensitive skin as it is fragrance-free, dye-free, paraben-free, and gluten-free.  Another skincare line we carry that is extremely clean is Epicutis.  Epicutis is so clean, it is EWG certified and approved in the European Union- both extremely difficult standards to pass.  If you are a sensitive skin individual and do not want to buy a whole bottle of a product, ask your provider if you can try a small sample first! At Atalo, we offer free samples to all patients to allow them to try the product for a couple of days to ensure there are no reactions to it.

It is important to note that some patients who experience stubborn rosacea may also need to consult with a dermatologist.  As effective as in-office treatments and medical-grade skincare products may be, there could be another underlying condition that is causing the rosacea.  In these cases, rosacea is a skin condition that may need a multi-faceted approach.
