FAQs

The most common treatment areas are the face, chest, and neck.
During the procedure, you may feel a prickling sensation—less than you would for a Halo treatment. Most patients describe the experience as comfortable, with only a mild tingling sensation.

Your Moxi appointment will be scheduled for an hour and a half, but the treatment itself can be as quick as 10 minutes—most of your time will spent numbing.

Initially, we recommend a series of treatments, followed by maintenance treatments as needed. Before the treatment, a provider will assess your skin and discuss your goals and expectations. This will help us determine if Moxi is the right treatment for you, allow them to customize the procedure to address your specific concerns, and how many treatments may be recommended.

Pre-care:

  • Avoid direct sun exposure in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior to treatment
  • Ensure all self-tanning lotion has been removed completely prior to treatment day.

You can find full post-care instructions in your patient portal (which you’ll have access to after making your initial appointment). A quick run-down of post-care includes:

  • Avoid tanning beds and direct sunlight exposure for 7-14 days.
  • Wear SPF 50+ daily.
  • Avoid shaving, scented lotions, and aggressive scrubbing.
  • Don’t pick, scratch, or remove scabs.

In most cases, you are able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities immediately.

You may see improvement in a few days after one treatment, but a series of treatments will dramatically increase your results.

One of the key benefits of Moxi is its ability to treat the skin from the inside out without causing damage to the outer layer. This means that patients experience minimal redness and discomfort during and after the treatment, allowing them to resume regular activities almost immediately.

BBL (BroadBand Light) Hero uses pulsed light energy and is not an actual laser treatment. It’s great for targeting hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, facial veins, and more surface-level skin concerns. It is non-invasive, with no downtime, and works to slow cellular aging.

Moxi is a non-ablative laser treatment, meaning it does not remove the top layer of skin but rather targets the dermal layer beneath it. Moxi aims to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance with minimal downtime, making it a popular choice for those seeking more gentle rejuvenation and the prevention of future signs of aging.

Halo is a hybrid fractional laser treatment that combines both non-ablative and ablative wavelengths, making it unique in treating multiple skin layers simultaneously (meaning both the skin surface and underlying layers). It creates micro-injuries in the skin, prompting the body’s natural healing response, leading to collagen production and regeneration of healthier skin cells.

You will work with one of our providers to decide which of these treatments is right for you based on your individual goals and skin concerns!

For the most accurate information, please refer to the consent form in your patient portal.

Following the treatment, some individuals may experience mild redness or swelling, similar to a sunburn, but this usually subsides within a day or two. Unlike more aggressive laser treatments, Moxi has limited downtime, and patients can typically return to their normal activities immediately. However, it is essential to follow any post-treatment instructions provided to you to ensure optimal results.

Most are candidates for Moxi, however, an active tan from the sun or a recent visit to a tanning bed is not appropriate prior to a Moxi treatment.

If you’re not sure if Moxi is right for you or if you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call or schedule a complimentary consult and we’ll be happy to help!
